Liliana's Chicken porridge
Enough for 3 chickens...
1/8 tsp Seaperia Soluble
1/4 tsp molasses
1/2 tsp chilli flakes
1/4 teaspoon crushed garlic (jar)
Splash of apple cider vinegar (mother)
3 tbs laying pellets
3 tbs oats
I put all this in a bowl, add boiling water, mix and feed it to them.
If I have any fresh vegetables and fruit scraps like carrot end etc I cut these up small and add it in.
Also, in winter I add some cracked corn too as this helps keep them warm.
It sounds like a lot, but it doesn't take long.
Marijana's recipe for spoilt chickens
"I thought you might like to see my 4 beautiful silkie hens living their best chicken life by starting their day with a Greek Yoghurt and Seaperia Meal “breakfast treat”.
This is Dolly, Dahlia, DC and Poop Head.
They enjoy yoghurt with a teaspoon of Seaperia meal once or twice a week.
I also add seaweed meal to their pellets and other veggie scraps to increase their healthy gut bacteria.
I also give a pinch of Seaperia Soluble in their drinking water."
Lizzy's chewy treats with seaweed sprinkles
My dogs love these and I know they are so much better for them than any supermarket treat.
I buy an ox heart from the butcher and put it in the freezer. You can also use chicken breasts.
The day before I want to prepare it I get it out of the freezer late in the afternoon and pop it in the fridge to defrost.
In the morning it's not frozen solid but still firm - perfect to cut.
I slice it thinly and then sprinkle with Seaperia Meal. The Meal sticks easily to the moist heart and won't fall off.
Into the dehydrator for about 6 hours and there you have a big stack of the healthiest and most economical dog treats ever.
Sharon's "Pat Coleby" mix for goats and cattle
1 x 20ish kg bag of dolomite
4kg of sulphur
4kg of copper sulphate
4kg of Seaperia Seaweed Meal
I feed 20 cattle and 6 goats 2 cups of the mix in a little molasses each day.
The sulphur controls external parasites such as ticks and mites. The copper suplhate controls internal parasites. The dolomite provides calcium and magnesium while the seaweed meal provides all of their trace elements.
I rarely have to worm my goats whereas others in my area are worming every couple of months. My animals rarely get sick and because I don't have to use chemicals on the animals I am seeing more worms and dung beetles in the soil. This means that dung sits on the ground for shorter periods and my soil is getting nutrients and organic matter which has led to better water retention and plant growth. The benefits are going much further than just the animals.
I also noticed that when we brought a new herd of cattle onto the property their dung smelt. I had never noticed how our original cattle didn't smell until the new ones arrived. Now that they are getting seaweed meal their dung has stopped smelling as well. It is my anecdotal evidence that seaweed reduces harmful gasses in cattle.
Sharon's dog food recipe
3kg of Paws pet meat which has very little fat and no fillers
1kg of frozen vegetables
3 cups of brown rice cooked with garlic
plus a generous sprinkle of turmeric and another big sprinkle of Seaperia Seaweed Meal.
These ingredients are mixed together and my girls get a cup each every night with a small handful of grain free kibble.
The turmeric is because my 11 year old Maremma (who won't keep still for a picture) broke a femur when she was 4 weeks old and I don't want her to suffer from arthritis.
The dogs are too healthy to go to the vet except for heartworm injections or misadventure. We never have to worry about cleaning their teeth, ticks or worming and they always look so healthy.
Liz's peanut butter dog biscuits
1 cup rice flour
½ cup rolled oats
1 tsp Seaperia Seaweed Meal
2 eggs
2 big teaspoons peanut butter
Just mix everything in a bowl, if it’s a bit dry add a bit of water.
Then roll teaspoonsful into balls, pop onto a baking tray and flatten out to about 3mm thick.
Bake in a slow oven for 30-45 minutes until they’re dry and hard.
These biscuits are great as a special treat and they have Seaperia Meal which bumps up the nutrition.
Seaperia Meal is great for gut health and so for dental health in all animals including dogs and cats.
